TURATHON HILL CHALLENGE 2025 is the seventh edition of the annual event organized by Tura Runners’ Club (TRC). The marathon will be held on the 9th November, 2025, at Jengjal along NH44E, a picturesque countryside location on the Tura - Shillong highway, and a visual treat to the runners and spectators.

Tura Runners’ Club has been organising marathons for a number of years now. TURATHON is the signature event of the club. In a brief span of a few years, it has established itself as a premiere destination for distance running in the North-East of India. The primary objective of TRC is to promote Turathon as a long-distance runner’s “absolutely must marathon destination”. We at TRC are on a mission to discover and groom budding runners as tomorrow’s champions.

⮚ Timing: 4:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

⮚ Venue: Bolbokgre LP School, Jengjal.

⮚ Distance: 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, 5 km

⮚ Race start time: 4:30 a.m.

⮚ Age category prizes to be declared on race day.

⮚ Prize Pool- ₹7 lacs

⮚ Full Marathon (42 Km) (with timing chip): ₹749/-

⮚ Half Marathon (21 Km) (with timing chip): ₹449/-

⮚ 10 Km run (with timing chip): ₹249/-

⮚ 5 Km Jerry memorial run (upto 300 only): ₹99/-

THE course

The route for the Marathon has been selected taking into consideration various factors. The starting point at Jengjal has a large area to accommodate a big number of participants and spectators.The place located on NH 44E is easily accessible and services like Medical, Police and volunteers are available round the clock. The site has ample space for basic amenities like parking and toilets. The starting line and finish point will be at Bolbokgre field, Jengjal.

The route further challenges the avid runner, while at the same time providing an encouraging experience to the first timer, as well as enabling a fun, exciting run for the young and elderly who prefer shorter distances.

Lauded as one of the best routes in the country, the pollution free scenic course amidst greenery on all sides, along quaint rural hamlets, the gentle slopes, bends and curves along the highway provide a unique experience unlike the monotony of routes in most Marathons held in urban areas. The USP of Turathon has been its course, evident in the enthusiastic participation of runners from all over the country year after year, braving the long travel to experience what this run has to offer.

The Course has a relatively low traffic volume and has no busy intersections or towns enroute. The volume of vehicular traffic as well as pedestrians is very low and has no road crossings making it suitable for the race. In short the plus factors are:
